Tuesday 15/05/2007

Please be advised that the organising committee of the 4th Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference (APRRC) 2007 will be having a press conference on:

DATE: 18 MAY 2007 (FRIDAY)
TIME: 9:30 AM TO 11 AM
VENUE: AMBASSY 1, LEVEL 6
HOLIDAY VILLA APARTMENT SUITES KUALA LUMPUR
225, JALAN AMPANG, 50450 KUALA LUMPUR

APRRC will be hosted by Malaysia for the very first time. It would be very meaningful to host APRRC this year to coincide with Malaysia's 50 th Anniversary of Independence day and Visit Malaysia Year 2007. In spirit of nationalism, we have specially chosen the conference dates to be just before our country's 50th Anniversary of Independence Day in order to provide an opportunity for all overseas participants to join Malaysians to celebrate this grand event in our wonderful country. We trust this would be a great opportunity for us to promote our country's multicultural population living in peaceful and harmonious environment. We trust APRRC has a great potential to expose foreign youths to make Malaysia a popular holiday destination in the world.

The Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference is an annual conference hosted by a country within the Asia Pacific Region. APRRC serves as a forum for Rotaractors from countries such as Indonesia, Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Austria, United Kingdom, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia to meet and learn in an environment framed by the ideals of service and progress. This conference will highlight the issues faced by Rotaractors in the region, cross culture exchange, project idea exchange as well as a venue for the voicing of opinion.

About Rotaract:
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are usually community-based or university-based and are sponsored by a local Rotary club making them true "partners in service" and key members of the Rotary family. Rotaract is part of a global effort of Rotary International to bring peace and international understanding to the world. Through the Rotaract program, young adults not only augment their knowledge and skills, but they also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.
