OFFICIAL LAUNCHING OF SURIA 1000 PROGRAMME

As part of Government's effort to promote solar energy in the 9th Malaysia Plan, the Government is launching the national SURIA 1000 programme, which will enable Malaysians to install solar building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) systems at their premises at highly discounted prices.
On the day, the names of the recipients for "SURIA 1000 - 1st Call" incentive will be announced, followed by special announcements for the start of "SURIA for Developers" and "SURIA 1000 - 2nd Call". The launching of SURIA 1000 marks Malaysians' initiative to harness the clean, unlimited and renewable solar electricity that can be sold to the power utility.
The event will be officiated by Y.B. Dato' Sri Mohd. Effendi Norwawi, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department on behalf of Y.A.B. Prime Minister and accompanied by Y.B. Dato' Shaziman Abu Mansor, Deputy Minister of Energy, Water and Communications.
