November 9th is a special moment in German history, particularly for the people of Berlin whose memories of that momentous day are filled with joy and emotion. The German capital embodies the growing together of East and West like nowhere else, with its iconic landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag building and the glittering Potsdamer Platz, once part of the East-West border death strip. Nowadays, it has become difficult even to find traces of the Berlin Wall that once scarred the city!

Germany will be celebrating 20 years since the Fall of the Berlin Wall on the 9th of November 2009, and in conjunction with this the German Ambassador HE Dr Guenter Gruber will be hosting a reception where there will also be a screening of a documentary on “The Day the Wall Fell” at 5.00 pm at his residence, 16 Jln Kia Peng,

On this occasion Dr Guenter Gruber will also bid farewell to Dr Rainer Adam, Project Director Malaysia, of the Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation for Freedom and introduce his successor Mr. Moritz Kleine-Brockhoff. Please refer to program below, and invitation attached herewith.
