INVITATION TO PETRONAS' MEDIA BRIEFING ON PFLNG1

PETRONAS Floating LNG 1 (PFLNG1) will be a game-changer in the LNG business as one of the biggest offshore structures ever built. PFLNG1 will make possible the liquefaction, production and offloading processing of LNG at 180 kilometres from offshore Bintulu, Sarawak, putting PETRONAS at the leading edge of innovation and technology.
Pushing engineering limits, PFLNG1 weighs about 125,000 tonnes, is 365 metres in length and is designed to produce 1.2 million tonnes (mtpa) of LNG per year. The move to a floating facility enables PETRONAS to unlock and monetise remote and stranded gas fields otherwise deemed economically unfeasible in Malaysia.
PFLNG1 is targeted to commission in the Kanowit field, offshore Sarawak by end of 2015.
Ahead of this significant milestone, PETRONAS is organising a media briefing led by Vice President and Venture Director LNG Projects – Domestic, Datuk Abdullah Karim, who will provide an update on the project.
