Equity crowdfunding allows businesses to leverage on the power technology and social media to efficiently raise capital. In Malaysia, the Securities Commission Malaysia became the first country in ASEAN to introduce equity crowdfunding licenses last year.
Cradle, the leading early stage start-ups influencer together with ECF Player, CrowdPlus.Asia and local event booking startup VMO will be having a press conference to reveal the result on its recent crowdfunding investment.

VMO Makes Progress on Crowdfunding Campaign
Exactly a year ago, a startup venue booking portal was officially launched announcing the latest trends in venue booking along with some interesting numbers. Six months later, it received a strategic funding injection from a regional F&B Group to further expand the business.
Today, VMO Rocks Sdn Bhd has raised a total of MYR500 000 via equity crowdfunding platform, CrowdPlus.Asia and Co-Investment opportunity with Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle).
VMO's portal at www.vmo.rocks had received RM39 Million in inquiry value at the end of December 2016 compared to RM9.5 Million the year before.
It is because equity crowdfunding is still at its infancy in Malaysia, VMO alongside CrowdPlus.Asia and Cradle will share the experience and progress of this campaign that is taking VMO to greater heights.
VMO's Chief Evangelist, Vincent Kok, CrowdPlus.Asia's CEO, Andrew Tan and Cradle's Chief Investment Officer, Juliana Jan, will jointly hold a press conference followed by a cheque presentation ceremony.
