The workshop is held in conjunction with collaborative research between Kyoto University and the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM).
The ultimate goal is to establish cooperation in disaster risk reduction efforts in some countries in Asia such as Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Discussions include disaster risk reduction efforts from various angles either from technical, social, economic or policy.
The objective of this workshop is to discuss methods of disaster risk reduction in various countries. The workshop also aims to forge cooperation in disaster risk reduction in various countries. The workshop at IKIM will also highlight policy recommendations for disaster risk reduction and in the Malaysian context, will relate to the state disaster management, disaster education and so on.
