CODING@SCHOOLS 2017 LAUNCHING

Coding@Schools is an introductory program for primary students to learn the basics and fundamental principle of coding in a practical way. It is an initiative that was announced in the Budget 2016 by the Prime Minister under the area of Accelerating Innovation and Entrepreneurship and is an initiative of the National Malaysian Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS).
The pilot program in 2016 had reached 3,000 primary school students from 100 schools nationwide. This year, Coding@Schools will be focusing more on the rural schools while expanding its content to three categories: Immersion Camp, Alumni Bootcamp and Hackathons. The total reach for 2017 is 6,000 students.
The program is designed and coordinated by the National Strategy Unit, Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the State Education Department. The program is implemented by StartupMalaysia.org.
The program will be held as follows:
