GIS2017 convenes high-level leaders from business, government, academia, civil society, and global think tanks for lively discussions on the state of global competitiveness and ways to enhance innovation capacity worldwide. This is the 4th instalment of the summit, carrying the theme The Sustainable Future of Production, Consumption and Work.
Global sustainability is more than merely environmental issues, but it also envelops new business opportunities that are created by sustainable business models and new technologies. Sustainability is a critical nexus that is inter-connected with competitiveness.
Innovation is key in bridging growth, competitiveness and sustainability as the solutions will depend on new concepts, technologies and business models. Such new solutions can help companies, cities and nations to be more efficient, ie: lower costs and create value.
GIS2017 is jointly organised by the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils (GFCC) and MIGHT. GFCC is a global network of over 50 organisations that have come together around a set of shared principles to enhance regional, national and global prosperity.
