As mentioned above, Y.A.B Tuan Amirudin bin Shari, Dato' Menteri Besar Selangor (Chief Minister of Selangor) will be making a visit to Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE), a fully-owned subsidiary of Airbus, to officially open Malaysia’s first "smart" workshop for the repair of aircraft nose radomes. The Smart Radome Workshop is an Airbus-Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre (AMIC) initiative supported by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry under the 11th Malaysia Plan.
An aircraft radome covers the nose of the aircraft. It protects the antennas installed in the nose from airflow, rain, hail, lightning strike, bird strikes. Key transmissions systems located within the radome include the weather detection radar and instrument landing systems.
SAE is an EASA-approved independent regional aircraft Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) centre. It specialises in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of commercial aircraft, engines, and components.
On that note, we would like to invite you and/or your representative and a photographer/TV crew to attend and cover this event. Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE) requires all visitors to submit their full name and IC numbers in advance for entry to the hangar, which is located on the airside. To facilitate entry, it would be appreciated if you could share with us the names of the journalist, photographer / TV crew attending and their respective IC numbers by Friday, 31 May 2019. Please be prepared for rain as well. We hereby attached the programme and the reply slip for your reference.
