BRIDGING TRADE AND INVESTMENT RELATIONS BETWEEN THAILAND AND EAST MALAYSIA (SARAWAK)

The Office of Commercial Affairs-Kuala Lumpur (DITP-KL) under the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce Thailand is delighted to announce that we are leading a trade mission from Thailand to Sarawak during 22th - 24st August 2019, comprising 11 Thai companies and representatives from Thai Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Thai Industries and Thai - Malaysia Business Council. During this visit, we also organize Trade Forum and Business Matching titled “Bridging Trade and Investment Relations between Thailand and East Malaysia (Sarawak)” on 23rd August 2019 at Colosseum 1, Level 2, Pullman Kuching Hotel. The objective of the event is to create awareness among Thai and Malaysian entrepreneurs in Sarawak about trade opportunity and enhance closer collaboration and partnership between private sectors from the two countries. The event consists of 2 important sessions including (1) Trade Forum : Presentation on "Thai Economy: Current Situation and Future Outlook under Prayut II" and Panel discussion on potential trade opportunities between Thailand and East Malaysia and (2) Business Matching Session
The event will be presided over by Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia (H.E. Mr. Narong Sasitorn)

10.15 am: Keynote Speech by Chief Minister of Sarawak (TBC)
10.30 am: MOU signing ceremony between Sarawak Business Federation and Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking
11.00 - 11.20 am: 1. Trade Forum: Presentation on “Thai Economy: Current Situation and Future Outlook under Prayut II” by Mr. Prakhan Kordumrong, Executive Director of Office of Overseas Market Development, Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP)
11.30 – 12.30 am:
Panel Discussion on Overview of Current Economic Situation in Thailand and Potential Trade Opportunities between Thailand and East Malaysia by
1. Datuk (Dr.) Philip D I Ting, Deputy President, Sarawak Business Federation
2. Mr. Kalin Sarasin, President of Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand
3. Mr. Panithan Pawarolanwittaya , Executive Director, Federation of Thai Industries

14.00 – 17.00 am: 2. Business Matching: food and beverage, automotive spare parts, building material (kitchen and bathroom), architectural design services, hardware (security lock, fittings), ice machine for factory and rubber pressing machine.
