PRESS CONFERENCE: WESTERN DIGITAL WEF LIGHTHOUSE NETWORK - MALAYSIA'S FIRST LIGHTHOUSE SPEARHEADING THE NATION'S INDUSTRY 4.0 ASPIRATIONS

We are pleased to inform that the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Western Digital (WD) will be holding a virtual press conference for the announcement on WD’s Malaysia factory at Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia being recognised by the World Economic Forum (WEF) to its Global Lighthouse Network.
The Network represents a community of world-leading companies that have succeeded in the adaptation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) at scale. Of the 90 total sites within the WEF’s Lighthouse network, WD Batu Kawan (Malaysia) is the first company to receive this distinction for an intelligent factory in Malaysia.
With this recognition, WD is also working together with the Government, through MIDA to promote the adoption of 4IR in line with the nation’s 4IR adoption plan. WD’s Batu Kawan site is poised to be leveraged as a beacon to other industries in the country who are on their journey of transformation and adoption of 4IR.
The virtual press conference will be held on Tuesday, 5 October 2021 on the Zoom Platform. The details of the event are as follows:
