INVITATION TO THE LAUNCH OF ISLAMIC BANKING AND FINANCE INSTITUTE MALAYSIA (IBFIM) REFORESTATION PROGRAMME (IRP)

Members of the media are cordially invited to launching of the Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) Reforestation Programme (IRP) that will involve the planting of hardwood trees in Taman Eko-Rimba, Bukit Nanas, Kuala Lumpur.
The event will see the planting of a Chengal, Meranti Seraya, Tualang, Merbau and Balau Tree, each on behalf of AFFIN Group, Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM), IBFIM, Joint Committee on Climate Change (JC3), Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) and Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia (FDPM).
IRP aims to support Malaysia’s environmental sustainability agenda and the nation’s goal of becoming a carbon-neutral country by 2050. Therefore, under the programme, IBFIM, FDPM and sponsors from the financial industry namely, AFFIN Islamic Bank Berhad, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, Maybank Islamic Bank Berhad and MyAngkasa Amanah Berhad, have pledged to plant 100 hardwood trees.
