GENERALI AND UNDP'S EVENT "BUILDING SME RESILIENCE IN ASIA"

Generali in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)'s Insurance and Risk Finance Facility will be launching a joint research entitled "Building MSME Resilience in Southeast Asia".
Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) constitute the majority of enterprises in the ASEAN region, comprising 97.4% in Malaysia and 99.6% in Thailand. They serve as the cornerstone of the region's socioeconomic fabric. However, fewer than 5% of MSMEs in the region have insurance coverage. The research aims to propose an alternative approach to identifying the risks and needs of MSMEs and offers solutions to mitigate and boost MSME resilience against climate change and other risks.
The event will also see the unveiling of the SME Loss Prevention Framework, a digital tool for Malaysian SMEs to better understand and manage growing climate and weather-related risks, and showcase the Insurance Innovation Challenge Fund's solutions to protect SMEs in Malaysia.
With the event, Generali also expands its flagship SME EnterPRIZE project to Asia.
