CHANGE OF CEO FOR AXA AFFIN GENERAL INSURANCE BERHAD

KUALA LUMPUR, September 14 (Bernama) -- AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad is pleased to announce the appointment of Emmanuel Nivet as the new CEO of the company effective today, 14 September 2012.
Emmanuel Nivet has been working with AXA Group for the past 20 years. In 2007, he was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of ACS, UK branch; the role which he held until 3 July 2012 before accepting his first posting to an AXA entity in Asia.
His vast underwriting expertise in property and large risks coupled with his experience in managing the business operations of an entity of similar size as AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad is expected to support the Company’s strategy of expanding commercial lines business.
This appointment is made following the retirement of Jahanath Muthusamy (Jega), after serving the company for 33 years. “I treasure every moment of my 33 years in the company and my heartfelt gratitude for the privilege and honour to work alongside a great team at AXA Affin General Insurance. Their commitment and dedication have been the major contribution towards the company’s success today,” said Jahanath.
Chairman of the Board of Directors, Admiral Datuk Mohd Ramly bin Abu Bakar (Retired) said, “On behalf of the Board members, we would like to thank Jahanath for his dedicated service and congratulate Emmanuel on his new appointment. We wish Jega a happy and peaceful retirement and have no doubt that Emmanuel will, with his immense experience and leadership qualities, lead the company to achieve greater success.”
