KWAP SPREAD CHEER AND JOY WITH RUMAH EHSAN RESIDENTS

KUALA LUMPUR, September 21 (Bernama) -- Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) or KWAP marked Hari Raya with a meaningful deed when they spread cheer and smiles to the residents of Rumah Ehsan Kuala Kubu Bharu in their latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme recently.
The group, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Azian Mohd Noh was greeted by the Rumah Ehsan’s principal, Hajah Mariani Mohamed Saad where they spent over two hours entertaining the residents. The atmosphere was warm and friendly where some of the residents shared their good old stories that brought both laughter and tears of joy to everyone.
During the visit, basic necessities and healthcare supplies were handed out based on the home’s wish list that housed 110 residents from all walks of life. Since its establishment in 1998, Rumah Ehsan provides proper care and protection for the elderly to ensure proper treatment and to assist them in getting a better quality of life.
Its deputy principal, Kholid Hamzah said the residents were clearly delighted to have people celebrate Hari Raya with them. Adding to the merriment, the residents and staff were treated to a buffet spread of traditional dishes suitable to the residents’ diet.
Dato’ Azian said that the charity visit to the home was part of KWAP’s CSR effort to spread joy and cheer all around especially to the less fortunate ones.
“We believe in the spirit of sharing and caring for the underprivileged and hopefully our visit will lift the spirit of the residents. It makes it all worthwhile when we see the smiles on their faces and the laughter throughout our visit,” Dato’ Azian added.
KWAP’s philanthropic effort extends beyond charity visit and donation. The organization also holds a host of social programs that benefits both the community and the employees of KWAP as they believe that cultivating a better world start from their individual and collective efforts.
ABOUT KWAP
On 1 March 2007, Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) or [KWAP] was established under the Retirement Fund Act 2007(Act 662) replacing the repealed Pensions Trust Fund Act 1991 (Act 454). With the incorporation of KWAP, all powers, functions, activities, assets and liabilities of the Pensions Trust Fund were taken over in totality by KWAP. The objective of KWAP is to manage the fund established under Section 13 of Retirement Fund Act 2007 (Act 662) towards achieving optimum returns on its investments. The fund shall be applied towards assisting the Federal Government in financing its pension liability.
