DATO’ HASSAN KAMIL AWARDED WITH THE BRANDLAUREATE BRAND ICON LEADERSHIP AWARD 2012

The Asia Pacific Brands Foundation (APBF), a world leading branding foundation has awarded Dato’ Mohamed Hassan Kamil, Group Managing Director of Takaful Malaysia with “The BrandLaureate Transformational Corporate Leader Brand Icon Leadership Awards 2012”. This is in recognition of his outstanding and iconic leadership in spearheading the growth and development of Takaful Malaysia. The award was presented by the Chairman of the APBF YBhg. General Tan Sri (Dr) Mohamed Hashim Mohd Ali (Rtd), in an award presentation gala dinner held recently.
Dato’ Hassan Kamil was delighted to receive the award and commented, “To be given this honour gives me a sense of satisfaction as this recognition makes all my years in the insurance industry very rewarding. I dedicate this achievement to all the shareholders and stakeholders for their continuous support and loyalty to Takaful Malaysia.”
Under the stewardship of Dato’ Hassan Kamil, Takaful Malaysia business has grown from strength to strength with group total assets currently at RM6.3 billion, annual growth exceeding 14% per annum and since 2007 group profit growth exceeds 30% per annum. One of the key factors behind Takaful Malaysia’s strong performance was the rebranding campaign. Launched in 2009, the campaign has been effective in two ways: firstly repositioning Takaful Malaysia as a dynamic and vibrant image in the marketplace; whilst creating awareness. Secondly, increased appeal amongst the general public on Takaful Malaysia’s products and services.
“If previously, the market saw Takaful Malaysia in a conservative light, we are progressively altering these perceptions and creating connections with customers from all walks of life. The brand has expanded its market reach by implementing new and innovative solutions that meet the needs of all Malaysians” added Dato’ Hassan Kamil.
On awarding the “The BrandLaureate Transformational Corporate Leader Brand Icon Leadership Awards 2012” to Dato’ Hassan Kamil, Dr. KK Johan, President of The Asia Pacific Brands Foundation said, “Dato’ Hassan Kamil is the brand champion of Takaful Malaysia. He has played a pivotal role in growing the Takaful Malaysia brand name. He set standards of excellence in the organisation that has helped the brand grow from strength to strength. This award was initiated in recognition of great men and women who are the faces and key drivers behind their brands.”
Dato’ Hassan Kamil recently was also awarded with The Jewels of Muslim World Award 2012 by the OIC Today magazine in recognition of his achievements and contributions in the Muslim world. The award also serves to encourage and inspire other Muslim business leaders to strive, innovate and develop more business opportunities within the Muslim Word.
Dato’ Hassan Kamil needs no further introduction in the Takaful and insurance industry at large.
