SPACE-TIME INSIGHT LAUNCHES SINGAPORE SUBSIDIARY FOR ASIA PACIFIC INNOVATION

Tuesday 24/05/2016

Collaboration Partners Include NEC Asia Pacific and a leading utility company

SAN MATEO, Calif., May 24 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Space-Time Insight, the leading provider of situational intelligence solutions, today announced the launch of its Singapore subsidiary focused on innovation with and for the Asia Pacific region’s utilities.

NEC Asia Pacific and the region’s leading utility company based in Singapore have joined forces with the new subsidiary. The partners will localize and extend the functionality of situational intelligence applications from Space-Time Insight for deployment across the region. Drawing on the utility’s ownership and operation of electricity and gas transmission and distribution businesses throughout the Pacific, this collaborative co-innovation effort will provide an advanced analytics platform designed to help utility companies across the region. The analytics platform will significantly enhance the operations, planning and performance of grid assets through data-driven insights.

“Utilities in Asia Pacific need to support the growing renewable generation and energy-intensive appliances in their distribution networks,” says Eiji Naka, Director of the Smart Energy Division, NEC Asia Pacific. “This collaboration between NEC Asia Pacific, Space-Time Insight and the utility company will optimize existing assets and capital investments to deliver reliable energy-intensive services to commercial and residential customers.”

The partners will first focus on deploying Asset Intelligence and Outage Intelligence applications within the region. Asset Intelligence comprehensively assesses the risk of asset failure and under-performance using advanced planning and remediation techniques to drive strategic, financial and operational initiatives. Outage Intelligence extends the value of outage management systems with analytics that help utilities further reduce the duration and frequency of outages.

“The utility industry is undergoing a major transformation, and we’re continually looking for ways to better serve our customers during this transition,” says Rob Massoudi, SVP of Business Development at Space-Time Insight. “Combining analytics solutions from Space-Time Insight with the operational know-how, reputation and market reach of our partners in this collaboration will deliver essential business and operational capabilities to our customers for success in the emerging energy market.”
