With the increasingly close contacts between the citizens of China and Australia, not only individual tourist likes to travel to Australia, but also more and more Chinese enterprises organize their employees to travel to Australia, which brings Australia continuous growth of purchase.

Last week, Australia ushered in a large-scale touring group consisting of over 1,000 Chinese business tourists. It is predicted to bring Australia the
purchase power of AU$ 4 million at least.

Nowadays, some Chinese enterprises organize employees to travel abroad for sightseeing, conference holding and team building. Therefore, the number of

A tour guide from Chinese travel agency says, "with the increase of overseas merchants accepting UnionPay card and numerous exclusive offers for UnionPay card, the card holding rate of these business tourists from China rises significantly, and the average purchase volume with card increases steadily."

Chinese tourists are willing to spend money in Australia, which apparently improve the local economy. According to the data recently published by Tourism
Research Australia (TRA), the purchase volume generated by Chinese tourists in Australia last year was AU$ 6.2 billion, increasing by nearly 7 times over last 10 years.

Against this background, more and more Australian merchants accept UnionPay card as a way to attract tourists. At present, 80% of local ATMs and 50% of local merchants accept UnionPay card, covering the places frequently visited by tourists. Among that, there are 160 thousand POS terminal accepting UnionPay "QuickPass". Meanwhile, 97% of taxis accept UnionPay card.

Within this year, consumers will enjoy special benefits with UnionPay card at Chinese Corner in Melbourne Airport. This is a part of a new privilege program
launched by UnionPay International, featuring special discounts at 100 international airport duty free shops, which loved by many tourists. In addition, four major tourist attractions, including Sydney sea world, wildlife park, Madame Tussaud's, and Sydney tower will get up to 40% off with UnionPay card.

Data from Australian Bureau of Statistics shows the number of Chinese tourists travelling to Australia in 2015 exceeds 1 million for the first time. By 2020,
this number will increase to 1.4 million, ranking the first in the source countries of Australia.
