COMPLETION SEMINAR ON "NRW (NON-REVENUE WATER) REDUCTION TECHNOLOGY TRAINING PROJECT"

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- TSS Tokyo Water Co., Ltd. (TSS) was established in 1987, committed to facilitate ever-lasting, efficient supply of safe, high-quality water. Their services extensively cover waterworks from water sources to faucets.
“The JICA Partnership Program for NRW reduction Technology Training Project in Malaysia” is to construct a pipe network ground for training on leak detection and pipe connection in Penang, and to transfer technology to PBAPP(Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pelau Pinang Sdn Bhd)’s NRW reduction team members by TSS experts, using granted leak detectors, from Mar. 2014 to Nov. 2016.Fifteen (15) candidates for instructor among PBAPP’s staffs were trained in total for three (3) years.
Furthermore, these instructors in turn trained employees from water utility service who was selected from all over the Malaysian states annually, and provided training for seventy-seven (77) trainees in total for the past three (3) years.
By doing this, Malaysians will be able to train NRW trainees by themselves in future.
As completion of the project, the seminar and closing ceremony was held on 27th October at Cititel Penang. TSS Project Manager Mr. Hajime Horiguchi said “This project should not be finished only for three(3) years, we must make continuous effort to maintain and upgrade this project’s concept, and we hope this project will be extended to all other states and even to other countries.”
Lastly, he added “We hope this project would contribute to all Malaysia for its achievement of NRW reduction down to 25% in year 2020.”
