  MAEPS SIGNS MOU WITH ACEPT TO ORGANISE EXHIBITION

SERDANG, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- MAEPS Management Sdn Bhd (MMSB), a subsidiary of MARDI Holdings, is collaboration with the Asean-China Economic And Trade Promotion Association, Malaysia - International Tourism Promotion Bureau (ACEPT) to organise the inaugural Asean CHINA Eco, Agro-Trade & Tourism Exhibition scheduled at MAEPS  in December 2017.
 
The agreement will see the exhibition being held for the first time in Malaysia, basically due to the increased awareness on Eco, Health and food.   Eco-Agro Tourism is the concern and destination for tourist to get education on where the food come from and how it is processed.
 
The event is created as a bridge between all parties in the industry, bringing forward the best products, technologies and destination within Asean, China and Malaysia that can be enjoyed and promoted, locally and abroad.
 
In addition,  MMSB and ACEPT will  jointly participate and organise the followings:
 
1. The ASEAN China Eco, Agro-Trade & Trade & Tourism Exhibition (Eastcoast), to be held in Terengganu in October 2017.
2. China Agriculture, Horticulture & Agro-tourism (CAHA 2017) in Suining, China.
3. Promoting future Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture & Agro-tourism (MAHA 2018) to ASEAN and China.
 
Datuk Dr. Mohammad Satim, Chairman of MAEPS Management Sdn Bhd, and Datuk KK Ng, President of ACEPT, exchanged the signed documents at #MAHA2016 yesterday to symbolise the partnership transform of agro tourism into a modern, dynamic and competitive sector.
 
"Malaysia is rich in agricultural resources and we believe it is time to promote Malaysia agro tourism destinations and related value-added services as a preferred choice for holiday makers, local and foreign.
 
"MAEPS plays a central role in MOA's efforts to position agro-based industries as a profitable industry, and as we are host to MAHA, the biggest agriculture industry event in Malaysia, and we are honoured and ready to work closely with the organisers to nurture and develop Eco Agro trade & Tourism through the collaboration,” said Datuk Dr Muhammad Satim.
 
Witnessed by Datuk Nogeh Anak Gumbek, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Malaysia, the official exchange of documents formalised the partnership between Asean-China Economic and Trade Promotion Association (ACETP) and MAEPS Management Sdn Bhd, and both parties begin planning and preparatory work for the events identified. 
 
Themed Our Food Our Future, #MAHA2016 is currently held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang (MAEPS) until December 11, 2016 and is expected to be officially officiated by the Prime Minister, Datuk Sri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak, on Sunday, December 4, 2016.
 
Among the other attractions that await the visitors include business seminars and workshops, product presentations and launches, agriculture technological and innovation demonstrations and competitions, agro bazaar, agrotourism activities, agro-product promotions, cultural performances, traditional cuisines and cooking demonstrations, pet shows, fishing contests, wellness programmes and many more.  Also of interest is the appointment of Upin & Ipin as the official mascot and new attractions in the form of Kampung Durian Runtuh Upin & Ipin, a Camping Site for 5,000 youths and Kampung Mok Cun.
 
The organiser has provided buses, trams, buggies and wagons to ferry visitors from the car park to any of the designated stops during the 11-day event.  Feeder buses are also being provided from the IOI City Mall and the Serdang KTMB station.
