Participants can expect to hear unique insights from some of the world’s foremost business and design leaders that our global brands have convened.”

“Singapore Design Week 2017 is very different from other design festivals, in that our narrative of design has broadened over the years, and this has been demonstrated through our programming. SDW will engage businesses and C-suite leaders to help them understand how design can be used in business strategy. It will showcase the importance of design in social innovation and national identity. For this purpose, we are thrilled to collaborate with global media company Time Inc. for the Innovation by Design Conference,” said Agnes Kwek, Executive Director, DesignSingapore Council. “Also, we welcome the debut exhibition Singapore + Wallpaper* Handmade Classics. Designers and the public will be able to view and be inspired by original, one-off works by international talents. These collaborations with Time Inc. enhance Singapore as a global city for design.”

In addition, Singapore + Wallpaper* Handmade Classics will mount a debut exhibition in Singapore. It is a specially curated showcase of original, one-off pieces and unique design collaborations commissioned by Wallpaper* magazine and created by internationally renowned talents from past Handmade editions. The theme of the exhibition – MultipliCITY – acknowledges Singapore’s heritage of adaptability, versatility, diversity and invention. The exhibition is from March 9- June 11 at Gillman Barracks.

In its fourth edition, the Singapore Design Week (SDW) 2017 will be held from March 3-12, 2017. The annual SDW brings together a collection of local and international design activities in Singapore. Organised by the DesignSingapore Council, the SDW is open to the design community, businesses, design students, public sector officers and the general public, and aims to raise awareness of good design, deepen the appreciation and understanding of design innovation and encourage the use of design for innovation and productivity. Through this platform, the Council also hopes to enhance the synergy among our design partners, and in turn boost Singapore’s profile and attractiveness as a global city for design. www.designsingapore.org/SDW
