Hypermarket targets to raise RM200,000 to support underserved adopted schools KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- Following the commitment made by Tesco Malaysia (Tesco) last year in adopting 59 underserved schools nationwide, Tesco launches a walkathon event as part of its annual fund raising activities to support seven underserved adopted schools within Klang Valley.
The 2.3 kilometre walkathon event is scheduled on Sunday, 26 February 2017 to be flagged off at Sports Complex of Desa Park City, Kuala Lumpur with a target to attract 4,000 participants and to raise RM200,000, which will be channelled fully to Tesco’s School Adoption Program.

Walk For Kids 2017 event will be co-hosted by TV and radio personalities, Kevin Chong and Sasha Bashir and there will be a special appearance by the Malaysia’s Female Mixed Martial Arts champion, Ann Osman who will be making arm wrestling challenge to raise funds for the adopted schools. The event will also feature a performance by a local band, Hydra Malaysia.

These schools have identified their financial needs in improving some crucial facilities and to fund some programs for their schools,” added Azliza.
