KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- MyCreative Ventures Sdn. Bhd. (“MyCreative”) is pleased to announce that we will be hosting two-day stage performances featuring winners of Theatrix 2016 at Kuala Lumpur Performing Art Centre (klpac).
The two winners of Theatrix 2016, Tocatta Studio and PITaPAT Theatre, will be staging their performances, namely “2020” and “Kakak” respectively.
Theatrix 2016 is a performing arts competition that had taken place at klpac on 1 September 2016. It was a collaborative effort by MyCreative, The Actors Studio and klpac to elevate the Malaysian performing arts industry to the next level, achieving a sustainable future that is rewarding from social, culture and economic perspectives.
Apart from the opportunity to perform at klpac, Tocatta Studio and PITaPAT had also received RM15,000 cash each as their winning rewards.
2020 and Kakak will take place on the following dates:

19 March 2017 @ 3pm (Open to public)
Venue : Pentas 2, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac).

Synopsis: 2020 (Dance Performance by Tocatta Studio)2020 is a multidisciplinary performance that is speculative in nature: utilising accessible science fiction concepts such as relativity of time and multiverse theory, 2020 tells a story of traveling within the currents of time. This piece is not simply a reflection, perhaps even prediction, of the future, but as a call to action: the future is predictable, but to what extend? The future is exciting in that it is changeable, malleable and the team wish to offer 2020 as a catalyst for a change of minds and subsequently, the changing for a better world.
Kakak (Theatre by PITaPAT Theatre)They are housemaids (kakak) who live under oppressed by their master and mistress. To overcome their oppression, they love to play this ‘ceremony’ of role-playing – they take turns to play the role of mistress – when the mistress is not at home. When the ceremony is being played for many times, they started to get obsessed, and confused about who they really are – They didn’t realize that this ceremony gradually change them, give them power…… to cause the arrest of their master, and their murder plan……
