SERDANG, June 9 (Bernama) -- Putra Business School (PBS) launched its professional MBA in Marketing with Certified Professional Marketer (CPM) Asia Certification Program. This professional program is in collaboration with Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM). It is the first of its kind making PBS the first private institution of higher learning (IPTS) in the country to embark on this innovative collaboration initiative with the industry in particular with a professional body. Applications are now open for the July 2017 intake and the closing date is 30 June 2017 for local applicants. Applicants can also apply for the September 2017 intake with the closing date being 18 August 2017 for local applicants and 30 June 2017 for international applicants.
                                                                                            
The uniqueness in PBS MBA offerings include dual qualifications,i.e. MBA qualification plus another certification with professional bodies such as IMM and Malaysian Institute Human Resource management (MIHRM) for Certified Advanced Human Resource manager. This professional MBA program will certainly value add the qualification offered by PBS to its graduates specializing in Marketing in giving them the competitive edge and higher marketability not only in the country but also around the region. Upon completion, graduates will receive two certificates - their MBA and CPM (Asia). This program caters for the needs of top managers, focusing on marketing leadership skills. The collaboration with IMM is essential and timely to achieve PBS’s objective of nurturing human leaders. PBS aims to nurture future leaders that practice the human governance values and principles.

To date, PBS has 6 academic staff that had attended the CPM training and are qualified to teach the students who will be taking the MBA in Marketing program. PBS is the first institution in the country that has adequate trainers to run the program.
 
PBS is one of the elite business schools in the region that receives the respected Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation. The other new academic programs offered by PBS include MBA in Human Potential Management (in collaboration with Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management), MBA in Accounting, Specialized Master of Science and Specialized Doctor of Philosophy programs. All programs are approved by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.
