MALAYSIA AMPLIFIES OGSE INDUSTRY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Thursday 16/11/2017

ABU DHABI, Nov 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), in collaboration with Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) brought together a strong contingent of oil and gas services and equipment companies to Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2017), underscoring the importance of the Middle East as a key export destination for Malaysian players.

“With global oil and gas development activities expected to increase following several years of spending reductions, the time is right to pursue opportunities to boost export earnings for the Malaysian OGSE sector.”

“Abu Dhabi is the global hub for the oil and gas industry and ADIPEC offers a gateway to new partnerships in the Middle East, Africa and beyond. Malaysian companies such as Eversendai, Scomi and Dialog Group have successfully made inroads and built strong track records in the region. MPRC wants to continue facilitating access to these markets for more Malaysian companies,” MPRC Executive Director Mohd Yazid Ja’afar said.

Malaysia’s presence at ADIPEC features industry-leading companies such as Alam Sekitar Malaysia, Asia Lab, Asturi Metal Builder, IEV (Malaysia), Innovative Fluid Process, Mastek Oil Tools, MECIP Global Engineers, MIT Innovation, Romstar and VG Offshore Containers at the Malaysia Pavilion. The pavilion, a centerpiece of the national effort is a destination for potential partners looking to meet Malaysian suppliers and an avenue for Malaysian OGSE companies to showcase their solutions and capabilities at the conference.

As Litewalk is new in the market, the company plans to expand its product outreach to the Middle East, Africa, USA, Europe and other parts of Asia.

At the four-day conference, MPRC also held a series of meetings with government officials and oil companies’ executives from the UAE and Bahrain, as well as counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, United Kingdom and Turkey to develop closer bilateral business partnerships.

Hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), kicked-off its 20th edition on Monday, 13 November 2017, ADIPEC is the one the largest and influential speaking platforms for the oil and gas industry. Attendees include ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, world energy leaders and over 100,000 oil and gas professionals from over 125 countries.

Moving forward, MPRC remains committed to working with MATRADE to facilitate Malaysian OGSE companies’ access into the GCC and African markets. Both agencies are also committed towards raising Malaysian OGSE companies’ profiles at world-class international platforms such as ADIPEC.
