Thursday 06/12/2018

Immerse in the story and discover lost treasures of a historical shipwreck at the world’s largest aquarium brand, coming your way soon!

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- Rejoice, as marine lovers from all ages can now anticipate the magic and mystery of the waves with the installation of the ocean tunnel, marking SEA LIFE’s second milestone towards its completion in 1st half of 2019.

A mainstay feature in the SEA LIFE centres across the globe, the Ocean Tunnel will be placed in the largest main tank at the upcoming SEA LIFE Malaysia and will uniquely incorporate a piece of Malaysian history- a little known shipwreck of the past. The 6 metre long and 2.1 metre wide clear ocean tunnel surrounded by 385,000L of water will be set in a replica of the historic shipwreck site. As guests walk through the tunnel, they will immerse in the stories of the ship’s journey and discover lost treasures of the ocean, whilst being surrounded by a plethora of marine life, including Stingrays, Zebra Sharks, Black Tip Reef Sharks, Seahorses and Sea Jellies. Stay tuned as more information of this attraction will be revealed closer to the opening!

This double-storey aquarium is located next to LEGOLAND® Malaysia Theme Park, LEGOLAND® Water Park, and LEGOLAND® Hotel, occupying 2,123m2 of land space. It will have more than 25 display tanks in 11 habitat zones hosting over thousands of sea creatures. With a touch of LEGO’s DNA – building imagination through play, SEA LIFE Malaysia offers visitors an unique learning experience filled with fun and excitement. Through compelling storytelling and up-close interaction, SEA LIFE Malaysia aims to engage and inspire kids to learn, love and care for the ocean. The many interactive elements such as a hands-on experience in the Rock Pool zone are sure to fascinate kids and educate them in a fun way.

On the other hand, the the very first batch of Junior Ranger in South East Asia has been announced. There are 20 pax in total inclusive children aged 8 to 12 years old from Malaysia, Singapore & expats living in the region. This initiative aims to bring together the children who will become the voice of the marine sanctuary. Junior Rangers will have the opportunity to hang out with SEA LIFE Malaysia’s marine experts, get backstage access to staff areas and learn more about fish feeding and marine life conservation. The pioneer team will be officially introduced to members of the public on the next SEA LIFE milestones – Water Fill on upcoming 15 December.
