KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 (Bernama) -- Franchise International Malaysia 2019 (FIM2019) recorded a potential transaction value of RM452 million, an increase of more than nine percent from RM410 million previous year.
MFA Chairman, Datuk Radzali Bin Hassan said, the achievement was resulted from the franchise package offered by the 74 locals and international franchise companies. FIM2019 involves the participation of international franchise companies comprising of 14 countries including United States, Australia, Netherlands, Turkey, Indonesia, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Besides that, this program were attended by more than 11,000 local and international visitors.
FIM2019 held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) was officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Binti Dr. Wan Ismail on Friday, 5th April 2019. Also present were Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), Chong Chien Jen, Secretary General of KPDNHEP, Datuk Muez Abd Aziz and Chairman of the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) Datuk Radzali Bin Hassan.
This year, besides the international exhibition and conference, there were programmes such as Franchise Business Matching, Franchise In-Buying Mission, Franchise Forum, and many more. These were among the value added elements to further assists both the exhibitors as well as the visitors to get more exposure and gain more knowledge and information throughout the three-days event.
Moreover, FIM2019 also witnessed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Exchange between Mediconstant Holding Sdn Bhd, City Coin Laundry Sdn Bhd and Revenue Valley Sdn Bhd with their new master franchisees from Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Turkey, Brunei, Maldives and Jordan.
FIM also recorded more than 150 business matching sessions conducted between the franchisors and potential franchisees. While, for the Franchise In-Buying Mission (FIBM) involving more than eighteen (18) international representatives from thirteen (13) countries such as United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland, Sweden, Netherland, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Myanmar, Oman, Indonesia, India, Russia and Vietnam also contributed to the FIM2019’s potential investment value, he added.
This annual event was co-organized by KPDNHEP and MFA. This year was the 26th series of FIM.
