It is fully equipped to support PIC’s annual petrochemical production capacity in meeting the region’s growing petrochemical demand, being the largest and tallest of such facility in Malaysia, measuring over 40 metres in height, 134 metres in width and 171 metres in length.

The warehouse is capable of holding a 21-day storage inventory, or 127 kilotonnes of polymer products and is well-positioned to support PIC’s projected annual production of 3.3 MTPA of petrochemical products once the complex is fully operational.
Additionally, PIC also achieved the first delivery of polymer products from the warehouse for the domestic market, after the first delivery of polymer products for the international market on 10 April 2019.
Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation Sdn Bhd (PRPC) Dr Colin Wong Hee Huing said with the latest recognition, the PIC has attained a total of nine national records for various categories.
“We are also encouraged to witness the first delivery of polymer products for the domestic market, with a batch of linear low-density polyethylene and polypropylene products bound for Batu Pahat,” he said.
The PIC is developed by PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation (PRPC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS. The refinery, with a refining capacity of 300,000 barrels of crude per day, will produce a range of refined petroleum products, including gasoline and diesel that meet Euro 5 fuel specifications. Additionally, the refinery will provide feedstock for the integrated petrochemical complex within PIC.
The refinery and selected petrochemical plants within the PIC are owned and operated by Pengerang Refining and Petrochemical (PRefChem), a strategic alliance between PETRONAS and Saudi Arabian Oil Company, Saudi Aramco, through an equal partnership in two joint venture companies.
PIC is further supported by associated facilities comprising a co-generation plant, an LNG re-gasification terminal, a raw-water supply plant, a deep-water terminal, an air separation unit, as well as centralised and shared utility facilities.
