SHAH ALAM, Aug 6 (Bernama) -- IJM Land champions work-life balance for its residents and community. In its efforts to boost their wellbeing and promote family bonding, IJM Land organised #RunWithMe 2019, a themed-run and carnival held at its Bandar Rimbayu township which encouraged many to keep fit and destress amidst the backdrop of the township’s scenic surroundings.

The #RunWithMe was back by popular demand this year. A total of 2,200 community members enjoyed an invigorating Sunday morning in the vicinity around the Bandar Rimbayu township and partake in a fun packed day at any pace they choose. The fun run with the theme ‘Dinosaur on the Run’, in its 5^th edition, was bigger, better, more colourful, and attracted increased participation.

The fun-filled 10-km run offered an entertaining carnival atmosphere for family and friends to take things easy, to be outdoors and enjoy the moment at their leisure whilst appreciating the nature-enhanced township. Non-competitive because there are no time limitations or targets, it has become more a carnival of sorts that unites the community, fosters friendship. Fun stations to engage neighbours and fellow runners dot the course. 

Since it first started in 2015, the fun run has always been organised with an entertaining theme to attract participants who love running but aren’t too keen on intense competition.

“This 10km #RunWithMe2019 has always been about the fostering relationship while inculcating a healthy lifestyle. It’s not just about finishing the run on time but having a good time finishing the run.  And we are pleased to see families and friends participating together as a team,” said Mr Chai Kian Soon, Senior General Manager of Bandar Rimbayu.

#RunWithMe is a distinctively enjoyable and happy family and community experience. The run itself incorporates fun activity stations as part of the course.  Throughout the run, participants were cheered on by supportive ‘dinosaur’ community and treated to tropical fruits to quench their thirst apart from water, which has been a signature feature on the fun run. All the finishers were rewarded with a glow-in-the-dark dinosaur themed medal after crossing the finish line. 

Participants as well as visitors were also treated to a grand carnival of fun and activities, complete with carnival games and a myriad of food trucks and pop up food stalls selling food and snacks of every kind. And in the spirit of the theme, it also featured a special Dinosaur Park just for the day. This new inclusion in the run provided a fun learning platform to educate the younger audience on different dinosaurs.

Another highlight was undoubtedly the Dino Dash Challenge which catered to children aged five to 12.  The challenge required them to complete a mixture of five different physical, intellectual and fun activities, collecting a stamp after completing each one. The bouncy Rodeo Bull Simulator and inflatable Multi Play Land also proved a hit.
