A very good morning. It is with great pleasure that I warmly welcome all of you to the Selangor Investment Seminar 2019, an event jointly organised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), MIDA and Invest Selangor.
 
Early this month, MIDA had successfully organised the MIDA Invest Series: Unfolding Selangor’s Business Potential at MIDA HQ and received an overwhelming response from the business community. We are indeed delighted that the momentum continues with the attendance of more than 500 participants in this hall today.
 
We have assembled a panel of experts for the breakout sessions that will be held right after the presentation from Dato' Hasan Azhari, CEO of Invest Selangor.  The conversations will be on the transformation towards automation technology, talent development, funding and financial assistance, and market access. 
 
We are honoured to have the support from the moderators and speakers from Invest Selangor, FMM, ACCEL Graphic System, Mega Fortis, SIRIM, MIMOS, MPC, Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran , MDV, MIDF, EXIM Bank, Standards Malaysia and my colleagues from MIDA, who will share their insights and experience on various topics of interest with us today.
 
We will also be listening to the representatives from Spirit Aerosystems Malaysia and Kawan Food Manufacturing who will share their stories of how they benefited from the assistance and facilitation provided by the Government. The highlight of our today’s seminar will be the keynote address by YB Dr Ong Kian Ming, Deputy Minister of MITI.
 
Ladies and Gentlemen,
 
We strongly believe that continuous engagement between the public and private sectors will boost the development of the industrial ecosystem in Malaysia. Our end goal is to create more business and job opportunities for the overall wealth and prosperity of the country.
 
We hope that through our exchange today, participants will not only gain up to date information on policies and facilities provided by the Government but also form mutually beneficial strategic partnerships that will stimulate the growth of your supply chains.
 
We trust there is still so much room for expansion for existing companies in Selangor to reinvest, particularly in new growth areas. New companies should also leverage the growing opportunities in the state and establish your presence here.
 
As the principal investment promotion agency in Malaysia, MIDA will continue to work closely with the state government and local authorities to provide a more conducive business environment for businesses to grow.
 
Please take advantage of MIDA Selangor office that is located in Shah Alam, and our online portals such as the i-Incentive portal that features 127 incentive schemes, managed by 12 ministries and 29 government agencies, as well as the i-Services Portal, a single market place that will help you to expand your markets and further boost your business activities.
 
Last but not least, I would also like to encourage all participants to engage with our Investment Coordination Platform (ICP) team who works closely with equity and corporate advisory firms as well as local regulators and technology providers to facilitate the growth of your business and investment portfolio.
