KOTA KINABALU, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- Sabah Masters Championship is making an eventful comeback to the Asian Tour calendar, from 21 to 24 November 2019. This year, Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club will host the championship, rightly after the Sabah’s successful organization of 25th World Amateur Golfers Championship last October.
Sabah Masters which is organized by Arus Erajaya Sdn Bhd and sanctioned by Asian Tour and Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) is expected to attract 144 international professional golfers; including Malaysian’s renowned professional golfers such as Ben Leong alongside with the top 25 players from PGM. The four-day event offers prize purse money of USD300,000 (RM 1.24mil) to the winners. This is the 20th venue of Asian Tour calendar out of 24 planned for this year.
Malaysia’s road to Sabah Masters was made possible through various sponsorships and also strong support from government agencies with Tourism Malaysia playing a significant role in promoting Malaysia to the international golfers.

For VM2020, Malaysia will host big events such Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) from 31 March to 3 April 2020, and Maybank Championship 2020 edition. With more than 100 wonderful golf courses all around Malaysia, it is projected by Golf Club Managers Association of Malaysia (GCMAM) for the country to register 370,000 international golfer’s arrivals in 2020 with an estimated RM 1.1 billion in income to the nation.
