CIMB OFFERS SIX-MONTH REPAYMENT RELIEF TO CUSTOMERS AND STAFF NATIONWIDE AFFECTED BY FLOODS

Tengku Dato’ Sri Zafrul Aziz, Group CEO, CIMB GroupKUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- CIMB Bank Berhad (“CIMB Bank”) and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad (“CIMB Islamic) (collectively “CIMB” or “the Bank”) are providing a six-month repayment relief on various loans and financing products, in an effort to reduce the burden of customers and staff who have been affected by floods nationwide. The six-month repayment relief would be applicable to: - All secured individual and SME loans and financing (including home financing, business premises financing, ASB financing, SME Biz Property Financing and SME Quick Biz Financing).
- Auto loan/financing
- Personal financing (Express Cash and Cash Plus Loan)
- Credit card interest/late charges
- Deposits
Charges would also be waived for credit/debit card replacement, statement request or replacement of mutilated passbook and bankers' cheques. CIMB would also expedite the processing of insurance claims due to the floods in affected areas.
Tengku Dato' Sri Zafrul Aziz, Group CEO, CIMB Group said, "We sympathise with the losses and inconvenience faced by our customers and staff in the affected areas during this trying time. We hope that our assistance, by way of a six-month repayment relief and waiver of fee charges, will help ease the burden experienced by flood victims, who would need every bit of support to bring their lives back to normal. Affected customers can also walk in to any of our 234 CIMB branches to get further assistance on the flood relief programme. We will continue to find ways to assist our customers either through our business operations, or corporate responsibility initiatives.”
These repayment relief programmes are implemented annually for the benefit of CIMB customers and staff who have been affected by the floods. CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic have also put together various initiatives to provide assistance to affected communities in times of need via CIMB Foundation, whose CSR programmes across ASEAN are being financed by up to 1% of the Group’s profit before tax (PBT) for the period 2018 - 2020.
