MALINDO AIR IS COMPLYING WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF MALAYSIA'S DECISION TO SUSPEND IMMIGRATION VISAS FOR CHINESE TOURISTS FROM WUHAN AND HUBEI
Tuesday 28/01/2020
PETALING JAYA, Jan 28 (Bernama) -- Malindo Air’s CEO Capt. Mushafiz Bin Mustafa Bakri said that the airline is complying with the Government of Malaysia’s decision to suspend temporarily all visa facilities for Chinese tourists from Wuhan and Hubei as well as neighbouring provinces in China as part of its measures to combat the 2019-nCoV coronavirus outbreak. The decision will be implemented with immediate effect.
This includes privileges such as all Electronic Travel Registration and Information (eNTRI) facilities, visa-free entry, visa on arrival, e-visa as well as manual visa applications.
Malindo Air had earlier heeded to advice and regulations from global and local health authorities by suspending its international flights to and from Wuhan on 23 January 2020.
Malindo Air is coordinating with its staff on the implementation of this latest government’s decision. They will be notified immediately once the temporary suspension is lifted by the government when the situation returns to normal.
Capt. Mushafiz reiterated that the airline is taking all stringent measures by ensuring all the staff are complying with guidelines issued by the Health Ministry to stop the virus’ spread. Among the safety measures taken include providing and distributing the use of face masks, safety gloves, sanitizers to all technical and cabin crew, providing infection control and preventive measures information to passengers and being vigilant of passengers’ physical condition during pre-boarding.
As the first point of contact, our ground personnel at all our check-in counters are also ordered to be extra vigilant and to comply with health and safety aspects.
