  MINISTER OF TOURISM, ARTS AND CULTURE LAUNCHED TPN VIRTUAL ADVISORY CLINIC (T-VAC)

KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 (Bernama) -- Tourism Productivity Nexus (TPN), supported by Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) has officially launched TPN Virtual Advisor Clinic (T-VAC), an online one-to-one consultation service for tourism industry players. The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri graced the official launching ceremony which was done online via video conferencing platform. In attendance are YBhg. Dato’ Abdul Latif Hj Abu Seman, Director General of MPC and YBrs. Encik Uzaidi Udanis, Champion for TPN.

The official launch marks the completion of T-VAC Pilot Project which ran for two weeks since the middle of April 2020. 147 advisory clinics for tourism industry players were conducted by 10 appointed advisors who provide implementable recommendations in the areas of finance, business operation, and industry structure. The overall performance of the advisory clinics indicated 93% customers’ satisfaction as evaluated by 147 companies who attended the sessions.

Dato’ Abdul Latif Hj Abu Seman, Director General of Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) said MPC is extending the business model of the virtual advisory clinics to other industries.

“Virtual advisory clinics provides dedicated service at a distance. The clinics leverage technology and at the same time maintain human touch in its service via face-to-face interaction. MPC sees this as an innovative approach to connect with the industry players directly and optimise the cost of operation significantly.”

TPN Champion added that “T-VAC is an evidence of a successful public-private partnership. I am glad that the programme is well accepted by the industry players and we plan to open for new applications soon. This time the process is automated, thus reducing the use of resources.”
