GROWING BUSINESS AGAINST THE TIDES OF DISRUPTIONS IN ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS SECTOR

Thursday 28/05/2020

KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 (Bernama) -- Electrical & Electronics Productivity Nexus (EEPN), supported by Malaysia Productivity Corporation has organised “Growing Business Against the Tides of Disruptions” Forum as part of the government initiative to mitigate the unintended economic consequences of the
battle against COVID-19.

The webinar was moderated by former Chief Executive Officer of MATRADE, Datuk Dr. Wong Lai Sum with panellists from Plexus APAC, MATRADE and Deloitte Consulting LLP USA.

Director General of MPC, Dato’ Abdul Latif Haji Abu Seman said the third webinar series aims to share knowledge, experiences, and most importantly strategies for economic recovery as business activities are restarting amidst the disruptive challenges of COVID-19.

“The initiative is specially organised for businesses to take stock of the situation and to design strategies to move forward. These strategies include how to rethink, recover, and to revitalise their businesses post COVID-19. With the current social distancing ruling, all physical trainings will not be organised in the near future. With that, MPC has conducted more than 500 online seminars and trainings on many topics to benefit industry players from various sectors.

“Virtual Advisory Clinic (VAC), the one-on-one online advisory service by MPC leverages video-conferencing platforms to deliver personalised advice, consultations, and recommendations in managing issues and challenges faced by industry players. Based from the positive feedback received from the virtual clinics, MPC via the Productivity Nexus has since executed “Business Virtual Mentoring” programme to build the capacity of individuals involved as well as to guide and assist them in the online experiences,” he said during his speech, today.

Meanwhile, Champion of Electrical & Electronics Productivity Nexus, Dato’ Seri SH Wong also announced the launching of E&E Virtual Advisory Clinics (EEVAC) to help diagnose companies’ drawbacks, weaknesses and barriers for recovery & growth.

Dato’ Seri SH Wong said, besides to explore strategies and recommend action plans to recover and improve from the current situation, EEVAC also allow the companies to bounce off ideas and obtain feedback from the advisors.

“The EEVAC is broken down into 4 focus areas, namely; Business operations & HR challenge; Factory operations & Industry 4.0; Financial challenges and Market challenges. These EEVAC are based on ‘first come first serve’ basis. Any SMEs interested to seek assistance would need to sign up first. After an initial filtering process, we will then match you with our pool of Industry Advisors and Experts; followed by scheduling of dedicated one-on-one virtual consultation sessions. “ he said.

The session was also attended by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy), YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamad and Chief Executive Officer of MATRADE, Dato’ Wan Latiff Wan Musa.
