KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 (Bernama) -- Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) launched a series of initiatives with the theme of FPAM Financial Literacy Year 2020 (FPAMFLY 2020) in commemoration of FPAM’s 20
th Anniversary.
This theme is aligned according to the
National Strategy for Financial Literacy 2019 - 2023, which was formulated by the Financial Education Network and launched in July 2019.
Mr Ismitz Matthew De Alwis, FPAM President led the opening address and emphasized that FPAMFLY 2020 is timely to help the public on personal financial planning given this challenging time.
The guest of honor, General Counsel, Securities Commission Malaysia & Co-Chair, High Level Inter-Agency Steering Committee, Financial Education Network, Ms. Chee Fei Meng delivered the keynote address and launched FPAMFLY 2020 and FPAM’S Consumer Survey - The Value of Financial Planning.
The Organizing Chairperson of FPAMFLY 2020, Mr. Nicholas Chu said, “FPAM is honored to be granted the support from the FENetwork and initiatives like Public Financial Literacy Outreach Talk-Clinic (FLOAT-CLINIC) and Employee Financial Wellness Workshop Series was conducted online and received positive participation and feedback from the audience.
Highlights of the FPAM Consumer Survey – The Value of Financial Planning, which was funded by the Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF) were presented by Ms. Linnet Lee, FPAM CEO. She said the consumer survey is a significant outcome as it helps stakeholders improve on the delivery of financial literacy and regulators in policy-making for investor protection, keeping in line with the joint action plan enlisting 5 strategic priorities.
