KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- IOI Properties Group Berhad (IOIPG) commemorated the topping out of IOI City Mall Phase Two located at IOI Resort City, Putrajaya to mark the completion of the mall’s building structural works on 6 October 2020. IOIPG appointed China Construction Third Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd (CCTE) as the main contractor for the expansion of IOI City Mall.
The topping out ceremony was attended by IOIPG Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Voon Tin Yow, IOIPG Chief Operating Officer (Property Development), Teh Chin Guan; IOIPG Senior General Manager (Mall Operations), Chris Chong and CCTE General Manager, Bai Jin Song.
Construction on IOI City Mall Phase Two began in June 2018. It is on schedule to be opened to the public come November 2021.
Dato’ Voon in his speech congratulated all parties involved in the successful completion of the building structural works of IOI City Mall Phase Two.
“We are here to celebrate a momentous occasion and mark yet another important milestone in IOIPG’s journey as an integrated developer. A topping out ceremony is a tradition that celebrates the process of building and completing a project. Therefore, today’s ceremony acknowledges this pinnacle of achievement,” he added.
During the ceremony, Dato’ Voon and Bai presented awards to the outstanding sub-contractors. Teh also presented a certificate on Five-Million Manhours Without Lost Time Injury to CCTE Site Safety Manager, Lu Wen Kang.
IOI City Mall is the largest regional mall in southern Klang Valley and offers an attractive selection to meet the needs of Malaysian shoppers. The existing mall is occupied by trendy fashion brands, supermarket, cineplexes, and food & beverage outlets offering exquisite local and international dining experiences. It is easily accessible via major highways and public transport.
Dato’ Voon said IOI City Mall Phase Two would add approximately 1.0 million sq ft to the existing 1.5 million sq ft, with its occupancy rate of 96%.
“The high occupancy rate proves that the mall is a great success in southern Klang Valley. By November 2021, we will be ready to welcome shoppers and visitors to IOI City Mall Phase Two, which is built upon IOI Resort City’s concept of Stay, Work and Play,” he added.

• New cinema concept with IMAX hall
• Stylish al fresco dining arcade with a porte cochère drop-off zone
