AGROBANK CONTRIBUTES RM 1,000,000 OF ITS ZAKAT FUND TO TABUNG COVID-19, MOH MALAYSIA

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- Agrobank today contributed RM1 million of its zakat fund to ‘Tabung COVID-19’, Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), a donation fund which will be used for the purchase of medical equipment, medicines, reagents, disposable items and other medical necessities. A Zakat Contribution Presentation Ceremony was held today at MOH, Putrajaya which saw Dato’ Mustapha Buang, Chairman of Agrobank presenting the mock cheque of contribution to YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Adham Baba, Minister of Health Malaysia. The Zakat Presentation Ceremony was also attended by Khadijah Iskandar, Covering President / Chief Executive Officer of Agrobank. According to Dato’ Mustapha Buang, Chairman of Agrobank, as a responsible corporate citizen and aware on the challenges faces by MOH in combating COVID-19 pandemic, Agrobank is pleased to be able to lend a helping hand in supporting the front liners battling the pandemic. “With the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases, we hope with our contribution, it will assist MOH financially and enabling them to provide the best medical care to COVID-19 patients,” he said. “As a financial institution, Agrobank provides essential services during the pandemic and we are also front liners. On a daily basis, our staffs are on the ground to help our customers who are facing with financial adversities due to the current economic situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
