PUTRAJAYA, Feb 24 (Bernama) -- Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia today announced the appointment of Dato’ Hamzah bin Hussin as the new Chief Executive Officer with effect from 22^nd February 2021.

Dato’ Hamzah obtained his Bachelor of Economics (Economic Analysis) from the University of Malaya in the year of 1999. He began his career in Administrative and Diplomatic Services in year 2003 as an Assistant Secretary of Finance Division in the Finance Division, Ministry of Education and has served in various ministries and district administrations.

Dato’ Hamzah also has a vast experience as Senior Private Secretary to Ministers and Deputy Ministers in the various ministries, namely the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Prime Minister's Department, Ministry of Information and also the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (KeTSA).

Apart from that, Dato’ Hamzah also has notable experience in the field of land administration and management as well as managing development projects. In 2014, he was appointed as the District Officer of Kerian, Perak for a period of 2 years. Dato’ Hamzah also has made history when he was appointed as the first District Officer for the newly-created post in Bagan Datuk district office, Perak in May 2016.

SEDA is confident that Dato’ Hamzah will be able to spearhead renewable energy and energy efficiency agenda in the country. His in-depth portfolio and vast experiences in the field of management, administration, strategic planning and government policies are valuable attributes which are of great relevance to Malaysia’s sustainable energy agenda.
