  VETERAN O&G INDUSTRY ICON AHMAD SUHAILI IDRUS NAMED MPRC CHAIRMAN

KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), an industry development agency under the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department, today announced the appointment of veteran oil and gas industry icon Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Suhaili Idrus as chairman of its Board of Directors.

“Dato’ Dr Suhaili Idrus’ appointment is part of MPRC’s ongoing strategic effort to provide additional leadership experience to support our aspiration for growth. He is a highly respected industry veteran and his proven credentials will be a valuable addition to the Board,” MPRC’s President and Chief Executive Mohd Yazid Ja’afar said.

“We look forward to collaborating with Dato’ Dr Suhaili Idrus as we embark on the next chapter of MPRC’s journey.”

Ahmad Suhaili assumed the role of Chairman effective March 1, 2021. He has spent nearly three decades in the downstream, and midstream oil and gas industry mainly with Shell. He has also served in various senior leadership roles at Iskandar Regional Development Authority, PEMANDU, AECOM Malaysia and FELDA. He read mechanical engineering at the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology and obtained his MBA from University of Malaya. He also holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Asia e University

He is also a Fellow of Chartered Management Institute (UK), Fellow of Institution of Mechanical Engineering (UK) and Member Institute of Engineers Malaysia.
