SHAH ALAM, April 27 (Bernama) -- UMW Grantt International Sdn. Bhd., the manufacturer and distributor of GRANTT lubricants and a subsidiary in the UMW Group announced the sponsorship of Malaysia’s promising motorcycle racer, Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah for the second consecutive year.  As part of its efforts to support our local talent, UMW Grantt is pleased to extend the sponsorship of Hafizh Syahrin to compete in the global arena.  The signing ceremony was held recently between Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah and Anas Nasrun Mohd Osman, Acting Director, Manufacturing and Engineering Division of UMW.
 
As the only Malaysian rider competing in the prestigious Moto2 championship for the 2021 season, Hafizh Syahrin is an emerging talent and a serious contender in the motorsports arena.  This year, Hafizh Syahrin will be riding for NTS RW Racing GP, a Netherlands-based team and will be competing using NTS motorcycle.  He had represented Monster Yamaha Tech3 in 2018 and KTM Tech2 in 2019 in the MotoGP category and moved to Moto2 category with Team Aspar and completed the championship in 21^st position in the 2020 season.  Local motorsport fans did not have the opportunity to watch Hafizh Syahrin compete in Sepang as all the races scheduled at the circuit were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
The sponsorship extension of Hafizh Syahrin in the Moto2 championship for the 2021 season bodes favourably for all parties involved as the strategic collaboration not only provides financial support to Hafizh Syahrin but also augurs well for the development of motorsports in Malaysia.  The collaboration provides UMW with the opportunity to introduce GRANTT lubricants to a global audience to further enhance its brand presence.
 
GRANTT is a homegrown product of UMW which has been certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API), as well as meeting international standards under the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) and Japanese Automotive Standards Organization (JASO).
