Company’s digital arm bags 3 trophies at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards
  
KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 (Bernama) -- PETRONAS Digital Sdn Bhd (PDSB), the digital arm of PETRONAS, bagged three awards at the recent Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards, a testament to the positive results of its enterprise-wide technology-digital transformation agenda.
 
The company won in the AI in Oil & Gas (AI-driven live advisory for LNG plant start-up), Analytics in Oil & Gas (Health, Safety, Security & Environment Analytics Suite) and Digital in Oil & Gas (i-PIMS, an integrated pipeline integrity assurance solution) categories.
 
Capitalising on the organisation’s technological expertise and wealth of data, these projects involving cross-functional collaborations were created to solve customer and stakeholder pain points with digital solutions.
 
PETRONAS Chief Digital Officer Aadrin Azly said, “Data is the new oil. We have a treasure trove of data and technologies, and when we unleash the innovative minds of our people to tap it, they were able to use analytics, automation and artificial intelligence to generate value by further improving our existing services and systems.”
 
The AI-driven live advisory model enables optimised and consistent pre-cooldown of LNG plant start-up. Driven by artificial intelligence, the model captures tacit knowledge from experienced panel operators and insights from historical data, providing operators with parameters control advisory in real-time.
 
The Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Analytics Suite is aimed at creating safer workplaces across the 50 countries where PETRONAS operates. It consists of four solutions – HSSE  Unsafe Acts and Unsafe Conditions, Fatigue Management System, HSSE Integrated Risk Assessment and Integrated Process Safety Solutions.
 
PETRONAS Integrated Pipeline Integrity Assurance Solutions or i-PIMS, is a one-stop integrated pipeline integrity management system that provides its users, especially pipeline engineers and operators, highly flexible access to pipeline asset information in making quick and informed decisions.

In 2020, PETRONAS Penapisan Terengganu Sdn Bhd (PP(T)SB) won the ‘Analytics - Oil & Gas’ award through three prime projects — Dynamic Risk Analyzer (DRA), PETRONAS Integrated Vision for Operation Excellence Technology (PIVOT), and Plant Operation Integrated Tools (POINT). Meanwhile, PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd's subsidiary Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd won the 'Digital - Startup' award for its very own Setel app that provides a seamless refuel and retail on-the-go experience for PETRONAS customers.
