KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 (Bernama) -- In recognition of the outstanding contributions to global UAV industry, Global UAV Contribution Award 2021 is scheduled to be convened by organizing committee during 5th Drone World Congress. All candidates are global experts from internationally recognized UAV industry organizations, entrepreneurs and the award will be published annually. Each session will select 5 to 7 candidates who have made a great contribution to the industry development. Concerning objective standards, strict audit regulation, high degree of credibility and authority of the award, the evaluation of the final winner of the "Global UAV Contribution Award" will focus on the following 8 aspects mainly: technology innovation, environmental protection, social responsibility, corporate influence, brand awareness, personal charm, company market share proportion and contribution to global UAV industry development.

Dato' Lester Tay is the President of the Malaysia UAV Developments Association (MUDA) and World UAV Federation - Malaysia Chapter who has long-term collaboration with government, ministries and educational institutions for the promotion of development in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) applications in various industries including Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) system, precision agriculture, infrastructure inspection & audit, border security and geospatial application in Malaysia. Dato' Lester has also established Strat Aero Malaysia for providing professional services mainly in UTM system, UAV operator training courses, trading and merchandisation of the drone-related product, and providing effective solutions to conventional industries by integrating augmented intelligence drone application in the operation and management.

He has organised, hosted, and co-organised 12 national and international forum, exhibition, and summit which continuously accelerate development drone industry especially the safety and security awareness among the users. As the highly influencing leader in drone industry, Dato' Lester Tay always appointed and invited to be spokesperson of Malaysia to share the updated information, opportunities, and knowledge to delegates especially for more than 32 countries delegates who are passionate in drone industry. Lately, he is realising the systematic and effective framework of unmanned traffic management system in Malaysia even in other Southeast Asia countries.

The prestigious award receivers have made a remarkable contribution to the UAV industry such as Chairman of ISO TC 20/SC16 John Scull Walker, Founder and CEO of Pix4D – Drone mapping & Photogrammetry, Christoph Strecha, Chairman of the ArduPilot.Org Dean of National Aviation University of Higher School of Ukraine, Volodymyr Isaienko, Professor Emeritus of Aeronautical Engineering and President of JUIDA, Shinji Suzuki, and so on.
