JOB OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH MARII'S INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION ENGINEERING (ICE) PROGRAMME
Tuesday 06/07/2021
Dato' Ts. Madani Sahari, CEO of MARii
CYBERJAYA, July 6 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) announced the rebrand of its Automotive Industry Certification Engineering (AICE) to the Industry Certification Engineering (ICE) Programme, signifying the programme's accessibility to more industries beyond the automotive sector.
The ICE programme is designed as a bridging programme for engineering graduates (and related fields) to rapidly transition between university and the challenging demands of working within the various industries.
This programme consists of a month of classroom training and 5 months on job training (OJT) within the industry. The training covers manufacturing processes, lean production, quality management, engineering design & analysis as well as soft skills training to delivery professional and efficient performance. Trainees have the opportunity to be absorbed as permanent employees upon completion of the OJT.
ICE is open to Malaysian graduates aged 20 to 27 with a degree or diploma in engineering or related fields. The knowledge and skills gained from the programme increases the employability and marketability of the graduates to gain high value jobs within the various industries. The programme is developed based on industry feedback and requirements, and collaboration with industry players and Malaysian higher learning institutions.
"As there are a multitude of engineering disciplines offered by universities, the ICE Programme ties together knowledge gained from their fundamental courses with the required skills set to immediately create an impact in today's challenging industry environment", said MARii CEO, Dato' Madani Sahari.
"In fact, the skills gained from ICE are not only applicable for automotive and manufacturing industries. They are applicable to all industries to not only provide industry players with wellrounded graduates, but to address the employment demands that will take place once we recover from the pandemic", he added.
Businesses that are seeking entry level engineers may also approach MARii to recruit ICE graduates, or work with MARii's human capital development team to customise training as part of the business' on-boarding programme.
MARii also works closely with numerous government organisations to develop customised ICE programmes to suit specific sectoral needs and assist in the talent enhancement process of its graduates, through its wide network of companies that have been integral to the success of the ICE programme since 2012.
As at 2020, AICE programme successfully enhanced 4,656 graduates, and MARii targets to train another 1,000 participations through the ICE programme in 2021 alone.
