KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA) today introduced its three-in-one mobile news application (app), enabling the public to get updates on what's happening in the country and abroad.
The app encompasses the services of BERNAMA Wires, BERNAMA TV and BERNAMA Radio.
The introduction of the app is in line with BERNAMA’s aim to make news and information easily accessible to people anywhere in the world.
The BERNAMA app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for Android OS users and the BERNAMA News app from Apple App Store for IOS users.
Features of the app include:
1. Live streaming of BERNAMA Radio and podcasts
2. Live streaming of BERNAMA TV YouTube Channel and video-on-demand (VOD) for selected video clips
3. Infographics
4. News segments including Top Stories
The introduction of the new app is part of the 54-year-old news agency's strategy in embracing the latest innovations and new technologies for further development — befitting its status as the first and only news agency in Malaysia.
It is also in line with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) era, as well as in accordance with BERNAMA’s objectives under the BERNAMA Act 1967, which includes "...to report truthfully and fairly, without prejudice to public and national interest, the views of all sections of the population of Malaysia."
BERNAMA hopes that the news app will improve and enhance its branding as a source of fast, authentic and reliable news.
