ENHANCING PROFESSIONAL EFFICIENCY THROUGH PROJECT TRACKING TECHNOLOGY

Friday 03/09/2021

PETALING JAYA, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) is organizing a 5 series virtual workshop on Project Tracking technology, an initiative under the Professional Services Productivity Nexus (PSPN) with aims to encourage adoption of operational metrics and performance-linked KPIs by professional services providers.

Director General of MPC, Dato’ Abdul Latif Haji Abu Seman stated, “Firm-level performance has been closely associated with innovation-led productivity growth. However, many professional services providers have long had trouble measuring labour inputs that contribute to their businesses. To run a successful business, following gut feeling is not the way to measure company’s performance especially for small and fragmented businesses”. To reap productivity gains, businesses need thorough analysis of the sales, work, and financial results through performance management tools. He said “Technology has evolved  and is now allowing professional services firms to track data to see how employee impacts revenues and profits in ways that haven’t  been possible previously. One of the ways to achieve that is to track relevant operational metrics, including performance-linked KPIs”.

In view of this, there is a need for a suitable model for professional services providers to increase their capacities, to sustain and grow the businesses. By leveraging digital technologies, professionals can lower cost and increase efficiency to make them more competitive. Malaysia will put a collective effort to improve further on transforming companies towards digitalisation. According to the World Competitiveness Yearbook, Malaysia’s position in the ‘digital transformation in companies’ indicator ranking has improved from 26th  in 2020 to 22nd in 2021.

Ts. Ir. Choo Kok Beng, PSPN’s Champion states that, “Technology may improve visibility and in turn will help professional services providers to solve problem before it becomes more serious and irreversible. Professional Services is set to make a significant impact to the nation’s post COVID-19 economic recovery boosted using digital technology and collaboration to enhance its productivity further”.

The  series of virtual workshop on Technology Adoption for Professionals is  facilitated  by Sandmerit, the award-winning team in Best HR Tech-Employee Performance Solution. Each full-day series covers 2 parts; with workshop in the morning followed by a hands-on  session using a task management software where participants will be given a subscription for utilisation.
