KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) -- COVID-19 outbreak has impacted lives and livelihoods in an unprecedented manner. Knowing that many Malaysians especially the B40 segment and underprivileged group are bearing the brunt of the pandemic, AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad (AXA) strives to play its part to communities in need across Malaysia.
AXA Cares For You Campaign was launched in August 2021 to provide food and grocery aid to individuals, B40 households and orphanages who had been impacted by the pandemic. With overwhelming support from its employees, agents and partners, AXA had mobilised a total of RM103,000 worth of essential food and grocery as well as cash contribution to 541 households and 20 orphanages nationwide.
AXA had also received close to RM10,000 contribution from employees, all of which were allocated to the Campaign’s funds.
Emmanuel Nivet, Chief Executive Officer of AXA said, “At AXA, we care about empowering our communities to move forward together. We understand how the ongoing pandemic has affected individuals, families and businesses, which is why we have quickly scaled up our Corporate Responsibility initiatives to give back in ways we can.”
Recognising that small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are among the hardest hit sectors, AXA has also extended support to its SME customers and partners with grocery orders as well as delivery for the Campaign. In addition, AXA has also contributed 40 canopies worth a total of RM10,000 to SMEs to support them in running their bazaars during the Ramadan month, and RM8,000 worth of hospital and personal protective equipment (PPE) to Hospital Ampang. With these initiatives, AXA hopes to provide temporary sustenance to ease the burden of the recipients in navigating through this difficult period.
