KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- Invest Selangor Berhad officially kicked off the Hybrid edition of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) Series today physically at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur and virtually at www.selangorbusinesshub.my portal. The summit will be held for 4 days, from 18^th to 21^st November - featuring six main events:
 
18^th - 21^st  November : Selangor International Expo (F&B) features a mix of domestic and international F&B brands 

19^th November : 5^th Selangor ASEAN Business Conference features over 18 speakers– diverse mix of local, ASEAN and other international speakers

 

19th - 21^st November : 6^th Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention
 
18^th - 21^st November : 2^nd Selangor R&D and Innovation Expo
 
 18^th - 21^st November : 7^th Selangor International Expo (Medic)
 
 18^th - 21^st November  : 1^st Selangor Industrial Park Expo (SPARK)

“SIBS 2021, a key annual initiative by Selangor, is one of the ASEAN region’s premier business summits, where local and international industry players can convene to explore the great potential of the ASEAN market. The chance to connect business to new opportunities is undoubtedly important amidst a highly challenging economic environment today,” said YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor during the opening ceremony earlier today.

He added that through its various conferences and exhibitions, SIBS 2021 will also present growth opportunities that are available, especially in Selangor’s five core clusters. These five core clusters include a range of industries, ranging from aerospace to pharmaceuticals, which have the highest potential to drive economic growth for the immediate period as well as the future. Additionally, the F&B cluster is one of the fastest-growing industries, especially the HALAL market, which has the potential to spur the state and country’s economy tremendously.

The Selangor International Business Summit has been a platform for international businesses to use Selangor as a springboard to tap into the broader ASEAN market, home for over 600million consumers and over 200 of the world’s largest companies.

This year due to the pandemic, the physical event is held across 13,339 sqm, with 500    physical   booths,    but    there    will   be   more    than   800   virtual   booths   at  www.selangorbusinesshub.my.
