Insurance and Takaful Industry Urges Eligible 2021 Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat’s Recipients to Redeem their RM50 Perlindungan Tenang Voucher by 31 December 2021

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- The Insurance and Takaful Industry is calling all eligible 2021 Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat’s (BPR) recipients from the household, single and senior citizen categories to redeem their RM50 Perlindungan Tenang Voucher (PTV) before it expires on 31 December 2021.
 
The Perlindungan Tenang RM50 voucher programme was launched on 30 September 2021, allowing eligible BPR recipients to purchase a Perlindungan Tenang insurance or takaful protection plan from Perlindungan Tenang licensed insurers or takaful operators in the country to protect the recipient, his/her family or loved ones against key risks in life such as death, accidents, fire, or other unfortunate events.  
 
To date, over 880 000 vouchers have been redeemed amounting to over RM44 million worth of protection.
 
Eligible  BPR recipients are advised  to check their eligibility for the RM50 voucher via the PTV portal at www.myptv.my. Upon confirmation of their eligibility, they are advised to visit www.mycoverage.my to check the features and benefits of the respective Perlindungan Tenang products which are linked to the individual participating insurers or takaful operators’ website to complete their purchase of the product that suits their needs.  Alternatively, BPR recipients can walk in to any branch of participating insurance companies / takaful operators or authorised Perlindungan Tenang agents / distributors to check on their eligibility and purchase the insurance/takaful product of their choice. 
 
From 1 January 2022, the value of the voucher will be increased to RM75 where all  eligible BPR recipients will be given a new RM75 voucher to enable them to renew their Perlindungan Tenang protection plan for another year; purchase a new Perlindungan Tenang protection plan; or purchase a comprehensive motorcycle insurance policy below 150cc. The details of the 2022 PTV vouchers will be announced in due course.
