17 Awards in Innovative Sustainability Projects & Initiatives KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- In supporting the national climate aspiration, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (KeTSA) is proud to announce the call for submission for the National Energy Award (NEA) 2022, the country’s premier accolade for sustainable energy game-changers efforts. Since the inaugural of NEA in 2018, the Awards have recognised 95 organisations at the forefront of growing the nation’s sustainable energy sector.
A total of 17 awards across 4 categories will be opened to eligible Malaysian companies, organisations including institutions of higher learning, which have undertaken renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy management and energy performance contracting projects. A dedicated category has also been created to recognise the effort of financial institution in sustainable energy financing.
The organisation of NEA 2022 provides an important avenue to support Government’s strategic efforts to further increase public awareness and industry participation in sustainable energy initiatives. The award is aligned with the Governments RMK 12’s strategic focus on “Advancing Green Growth”.
Highlighting the significance and relevance of the NEA, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, YB Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said, “The impact of climate change has reached unprecedented levels. Today, more than ever we need sustainable energy technologies and solutions that can mitigate climate uncertainties and reduce the impacts to the environment. KETSA believes that our local efforts and talents need to be recognised and accolade to create greater adoption of sustainable energy solutions in the country.”
“Given NEA's success in showcasing the best practices of sustainable energy in Malaysia, I urge all eligible organisations to participate and to allow NEA to share your success story to a greater and wider audience. In many ways, platforms such as NEA elevate Malaysia's competitiveness and presence in the global sustainable energy landscape, now and for years to come,” he concluded.
Over the past four years, NEA has seen increasing participation from Malaysia’s stakeholders with over 645 organisations submitting entries. Furthermore, NEA winners stand an opportunity to represent Malaysia and wins the prestigious ASEAN Energy Awards (AEA).
The call for submissions for NEA 2022 will be opened until 25 February 2022 and submissions must be received before the deadline. For further information, please visit
